When things got stressful, there was always someone to hold the baby and give me a break.
The staff were so kind and supportive - especially after the baby was born. They also helped me find a place to settle into.

“We were all in the same situation - that was reassuring. But best were the programmes when we learned mothering skills, like making the baby’s food, and even how to deal with your emotions. The support they gave us after the baby was born - I could never have managed without it.”

“You meet young people who are in the same shoes as you. You make friends and stay friends. And you’re taught how to look after the baby - we all helped each other.”

“I was from a different culture, yet they were so fair. The staff even understood my bad English, and were helpful in every little way. They arranged for me to meet lawyers, and Work and Income too.”
